YouTube Shorts

Under an agency, I was the lead designer for YouTube Music (YouTube Shorts) social retainer.

  • The purpose was to bring awareness of YouTube Shorts on other social platforms, encouraging others to watch and create Shorts.

  • For YouTube Music, we created various content formats to reach our diversity goals, highlighting trending music artists worldwide.

12 Days

WRAP UP

A holiday campaign for YouTube Music social channels to celebrate the most popular artists who organically created YouTube Shorts.

The campaign was made up of:

  • 12 countdown statics for Twitter

  • 12 Instagram Stories (3 frames)

  • 1 wrap up Instagram Reel and social video for Twitter.

The design:

  • The diverse artists selection must represent a global market. The design must not be classically Christmas to be inclusive.

  • The arch framing represents the doors of a classic advent calendar, priming the viewer to the concept of counting down. It also symbolises the opening of a door to a new way to consume social content (on Shorts) and new music.

3 frames combined

  • The aurora gradient is reminiscent of the old digital music players that depicted visuals of colours merging, conveying the tempo. The wide colour range is all inclusive regardless of music genre, language and country. Stars are added to give a holiday feel.

  • The Shorts lock up, profile picture and username is included in the design to reflect the native feel of Shorts UI to establish branding.
